THE SCOOP: Beauty at Tuleh -- much like the clothes in the collection -- was inspired by the 1930s. The look was romantic, but with a decidedly gloomy bent. Eyebrows were darkened and elongated, lashes were coated with feathery mascara, and a deep shadow was brushed on the eyelids. "It's quite a warm smoky eye," said MAC makeup artist Polly Osmond. "I call it a thundercloud gray."
Osmond also created a unique mauve stain on the lips by layering black lipstick under a berry-tinged color. The overall effect was reminiscent of a faded photograph and the hair had a similarly dark, nostalgic feel.
Stylist Yannick D'Is pin-curled and waved models' locks, which were either turned under with a Marcel wave at the eye for a faux bob, or shortened with tighter curls to keep longer hair away from the shoulders. He described the look as "feminine, chic and romantic."
