Once again designers paired dramatic hair and makeup with their designs during the Fashion Week shows. We loved the punk/retro 40s look sported by models for Catherine Malandrino, and were excited to get a look at the backstage mechanisms that brought it to life.
The hair took a lot of prep, experience and product. Eva Scrivo colored 90 extensions using Wella Professionals. Coiffure Artist Odile Gilbert, using Sebastian Professional products, sculpted architectural up dos on the models that were retro, surreal and elegant.

We're just as fascinated by hair and makeup as we are by fashion. Recreating this part of a runway look can be a lot of fun -- and a lot more affordable -- to do at home. We're already playing with this look -- start with a ton of fake hair, add in four shades of grey eyeliner, get playful with a net snood and leave your inhibitions at the door!
