We sort of knew this day was coming, but it's still hard to hear: Lauren Conrad is leaving the Hills after five breathless seasons. Sob!Rumors have been swirling that the "designer" -- who looks more like Marcia Brady every day -- would soon leave the show that has followed her through years of heartache, failed fashions and the occasional mild controversy.
Conrad says she wants to "lead a more private life," which is understandable. It must be difficult to function in any normal way under the constant glare of T.V. cameras.
On the other hand, what else is she qualified to do? And if she's not on MTV every two hours, will anyone even notice her clothing line? Somehow we suspect L.C. will be back before top coat dries on her next manicure.
