Way back in '08 (doesn't that feel like forever ago?) we heard that Katie Holmes was going to start her own clothing line. Well, after more than a year's worth of scheming and planning, the newly long-haired actress is getting ready to debut her own brand.

Katie tried her hand at designing a few months ago, wearing her own creation to a Broadway premiere -- and it wasn't well-received, to say the least.

But, now she's saying that she's starting out small, doing clothes inspired by her daughter, Suri. She tells Glamour, "Jeanne Yang and I have been working together. We started about a year ago, sketching different things, trying to find comfortable clothing for our daughters that is also pretty and cute. We both grew up with mothers who sewed. We just started, and we've played around with doing things for women as well."

In case you're wondering, Jeanne is Katie's stylist and business partner in crime.
