We spend a lot of time here at StyleList talking about skincare products for women. However, we do recognize that men have needs, too. In that spirit, we enlisted the help of our local man to try out the Decléor men's multi-step shaving skincare system. The results were even better than we hoped!Decléor is a cool essential oil, aromatherapy brand that has all kinds of amazing smelling products for women, so we anticipated that, at the very least, it would be an excellent olfactory experience. We were right.
The Decléor Men's Essentials Range includes shaving and moisturizing components that are based on clove and eucalyptus oils, with a bit of peppermint and frankincense added for good measure. The combination is spicy, clean and manly.
Even better, the oils make your face -- or your man's face -- extra smooth, and provide anti-aging benefits.
For a non-product dude, the idea of a three step shaving process might be a bit intimidating, but the products are clearly labeled (seriously, it helps!) so it's easy to know what to use when.
- Step 1 is cleanse -- get your skin ready for a shave with the Clean Skin Scrub. A little exfoliant gives you a rosy glow!
- Step 2 is shave -- with the Smooth Skin Foam. Tough on stubble, but gentle on your face.
- Step 3 has two parts -- the Skin Energizer, and the Eye Contour Energizer. This is where you get the anti-aging and soothing effects.
Despite some initial resistance to applying the Eye Energizer (We were asked, "Isn't it a bit late for eye cream?" while he pointed to some charming laugh lines) our test subject became an instant fan, quickly incorporating the whole process into his morning routine. Yes, even the Eye Energizer!
"It really does make my skin feel nice," he reported. "And I like how it lets me get a really close shave."
We like how soft and kissable it makes his cheeks, which in turn makes him even happier. Indeed, the Decléor Men's Essential line turned out to be a real crowd-pleaser around our house. We encourage you to perform your own "experiments," but be ready to do a lot of kissing!
