Calling all fashion designers!
Cherry Heering liquor has teamed up with New York's perennial downtown cool girl, Charlotte Ronson, for its design contest, Heering Accessorize 2009. This is how it works:
Those looking to put Project Runway Christian Siriano to shame with their sewing skills need to either be a fashion design student who has passed their first year in school (although, if you're in your second, third, or fourth year that's fine too) or a newly established (1-3 years) fashion designer with their own business. Once those hurdles have been crossed, the next task will be to create a sketch of a cocktail dress inspired by one of six Heering cocktails created by Richard Broni.
Charoltte Ronson will then judge the US portion of the competition and select a person to compete in the World Championship in Fashion Mixing and Drink Designing taking place at the legendary Raffles Hotel in Singapore on June 4th, 2009. The winner of the whole shindig will be awarded their own runway show at the internationally acclaimed Copenhagen Fashion Week (Spring/Summer 2010). Cool, no?
For rules, information, and images of the cocktails, head on over to Heering.com. Meanwhile, those competing in the US portion of the design contest would do themselves much good in the eyes of Ronson if their dresses somehow could be worn with chunky wedges and mussed-up hair. Just a suggestion. Good luck!
