We were lucky enough to score an interview with some lovely ladies, Nikki and Riawna, from the Ken Paves Salon in Hollywood. Between the two of them, they have tons of experience, an amazing knowledge bank on the topic, and a crazy client list to boot (think Lindsay Lohan, Colin Farrell, and Eva Longoria). So I rolled what we got from these two into a week's worth of tips so you can look like you just walked out of the Ken Paves Salon.

When most of us think extensions, we think of a hideous weave and chicks with totally fried, damaged hair. But did you know that 90% of celebs have extensions? Now you're probably wondering who has them and why you can't tell what's what. Riawna says it's because "not all extensions are bad for your hair. Keep in mind you get what you pay for." So that girl you're thinking of with the horrible weave? Well, unfortunately ... she got what she paid for. But that girl doesn't have to be you. You can get a gorgeous head of extensions with the right know how.

Great Lengths "puts hair on hair. It's not glue. It's not metal. It's not plastic. It's real hair." They're also extremely gentle and lightweight so much so that Nikki claims many customers are often over the moon with how light they are, exclaiming, "I can't even feel them!"

Nikki also suggests researching and asking around to ensure that you're getting quality so that it doesn't damage your hair. Yes, you heard right – doesn't damage your hair. Because of the fact it's real hair, the Great Lengths extension that the duo use do not do any harm (citing client Eva Longoria's constant long to short changes as an example), last up to 5 months, and are virtually no maintenance; aside from a little bit of daily brushing so that they don't tangle and dread at the top.

As mentioned, both girls admit that you get what you pay for, which is why Great Lengths is pricier than say, your average mall salon extensions. But, looking at clients like Gisele and Lindsay Lohan, they are absolutely worth every penny. And for those that can't afford something like Great Lengths, Nikki says that clip-ons (like Ken Paves' Hairdo line with pal Jessica Simpson) are a much better option than cheap extensions. "You can take them to your stylist and have them cut. Don't be afraid to ask your stylist to show you how to use them either. If used the right way, no one will even know you have them in!"
