Diamonds and caviar? Just add champagne to the list and you've got a day in the life of French First diva Carla Bruni Sarkozy.

Gratuitous jokes aside, La Prairie's latest anti-aging serum, La Prairie Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentre, is one bottle you do not want to break on the bathroom floor. It combines diamond dust with caviar for double dose decadence in the pursuit of eternal youth.

The caviar extract is purported to firm and thicken the skin while plumping ingredients -- including potent peptides and Asian root extracts -- stimulate collagen production to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Diamond, mica and quartz crystals illuminate skin for the ultimate radiance boost. At $375 for 30 ml, the asking price is approaching the Tiffany's stratosphere.

La Prairie isn't the first to include diamonds in their formulas. Body Systems Diamond Sparkle Set, which we wrote about eons ago, packed ground diamonds for extra shimmer. Borba has a few "micro-diamond" products, and Bare Escentuals uses the "very rare, attractive brown diamond" in their Precious Diamond bareMinerals Face & Body Powder.

The premise intrigues us -- who doesn't want "the ultimate radiance boost?" But at $375 a bottle, the effects would have to be pretty amazing for us to bite. And we found one online review, which wasn't too, ahem, sparkling.
