Fact: Most community recyclers only take items made from materials that are easily recognized -- such as soda and water bottles.

Fact: Cosmetic and toiletry bottles, tubes, caps and jars are among those items not easily recognized and therefore not often recycled.

In effort to celebrate Earth Month and remedy the aforementioned environmental facts, Origins has created an ingenious recycling plan for those who have way too many tubes of leftover mascara and foundation compacts on their hands. From now until the end of April, customers can swing by any local Origins retail spot or department store counter and drop off their empty cosmetic bottles and tubes -- regardless of brand or manufacturer -- so they can ultimately be recycled by Origins.

On April 2nd, in particular, the first 100 people to return cosmetic empties will receive a deluxe sample of Origins' A Perfect World™ Intensely hydrating body cream with White Tea. The event will start at 10 am and will be held at:
