We love the sexy vintage meets modern look of Naven, a contemporary womenswear collection designed by twin sisters Kymberley and Alexis McClay. We recently caught up with these rising young designers (they're already on the radar of celebs like Kim Kardashian and Lauren Conrad) to find out what inspires their work.

What inspires your work? The design process for us is very personal. First and foremost we are inspired to create a tangible form of our dreams, and our expressions. We play off of many things in everyday life. We find inspiration in lyrics of a song, in nature ... for example, the Pretty-in- Print blouse was designed after a Tiger Lily petal -- the soft touch and bright color of a flower's petals reflect the soft silk, the print and the pink bow of the blouse. We are also inspired by the contrast between the cold intuition of city life and the beauty of nature that surrounds it; for example, the Retro Slip was designed after a trip in New York City where the grey tones of the building and industrial life influenced the gun metal grey color of the dress.

Who are your favorite designers? Though we try to bring our own unique style to the fashion industry through Naven, we are influenced by the creations of designers such as Zac Posen, Gianni Versace, and Alexander McQueen.

What are your top fashion & beauty must-haves? We can't help but always try to accentuate the female silhouette whether it is in a casual or formal outfit, that's why we cannot live without a slimming pencil skirt, high waisted pants, or a high waisted skirt. We wear our Skinny Mini skirt almost every day. You can dress it down with an oversized tank or t-shirt tucked in or dress it up with a body suit or our Naven's Royal Ruffle blouse.

Any advice you would give to aspiring designers? It is a tough industry so work hard.
