In case you've been living under some kind of super cozy rock for the past few months (dodging bill collectors, perhaps?), today is something like Christmas for fashionistas stateside. Why, pray tell? Well, after a series of unfortunate events and subsequent setbacks, the first-ever New York Topshop flagship is finally up and open for business.
Customers be able to enjoy in-store pampering sessions, enter a contest for a free trip to London, and try on new spring '09 pieces by Jonathan Saunders, Preen, and Kate Moss (who, by the way, will make an appearance at the grand opening), all while listening to live music by the likes of LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy blaring in the background this first week. Additionally, they'll also have the opportunity to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer's annual awareness drive.
Blokes and birds who purchase the over-sized Fashion Targets Breast Cancer tee, which is modeled this year by Vogue Italia cover girl Jourdan Dunn, will see 30 per cent of the proceeds made off of the £22 (or $32) garment going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Cool, indeed. Plus, when socially conscious fashion looks this good how could anyone possibly say no?
