Ladies, raise your hand if you've ever dated a guy who had skin issues, but stubbornly refused to dip into the thousands of fancy beauty products you gave him to treat them. He called it man pride. You call it, um, pigheaded.

We've all been there, and it's a tricky situation -- you don't want to be insulting, but his dry skin and razor bumps could be dealt with so easily if he would just use the right products. So how do you get him into a skincare routine without making him feel like he's a, gasp, metrosexual?

We talked to Tony Sosnick, the founder of Anthony Logistics for Men. Obviously, he knows a thing or two about men's skincare, and he was able to provide a few tips and tricks for getting your guy good and groomed. After the jump, find some common problems and Tony's solutions.

Problem: Your man won't use skincare products, even though he needs to.

Tony's solution: "This is a common issue with guys -- feeling uncomfortable using a product other than just a shave cream. First, it is important to help him understand that the issues with his skin are very common and the products used to help treat these are made for a man. I always like to start guys like this out by using one or two products, just to get them comfortable with the idea. A good place to start is a good facial cleanser or scrub. These products will show results very quickly and are ones he can use in the privacy of his bathroom. You can say to him, "You wash your hair, you wash your body why not wash your face?" Once he realizes that it is no a big deal and starts to see some results he will want more. Next, bring him home a shave cream or moisturizer ... pretty soon he'll be using more products than you.

Problem: Ingrown hairs and razor bumps

Tony's solution: This is the most common problem, and it's simple to avoid when you follow the right steps. Above all, make sure he's shaving in the right direction. He says, "The general rule is to shave in the direction of the beard growth. Usually the beard grows downward toward your neck and upwards from the base of your neck." Then,

  • Start with a clean face using warm (not hot!) water, and include a facial cleanser to get rid of dirt and oil. Rinse, but don't dry.
  • Apply a thin layer of Pre-Shave Oil to soften the beard and add more glide to the razor. Then, apply non-foaming Shave Cream or Shave Gel in a thin, even layer. Remember, razors should be replaced every three or four uses -- more if they have a heavier beard.
  • Use free hand to keep skin as taut and flat as possible to avoid nicks and cuts. Use short strokes at the sideburns, cheeks, and neck, and leave your lip and chin for last so those whiskers have more time to soften.
  • Rinse the razor frequently under warm water.
  • Rinse face with cool water and pat dry (don't rub!).
  • Finish with Anthony Logistics Ingrown Hair Treatment and Razor Burn Repair.

Problem: You have an event coming up and would love for your man to have a little color, but you know he won't use your "girly" self-tanner.

Tony's solution: Anthony Logistics makes a great Self Tanner with Anti-Aging properties. It's foolproof, non-messy, and adds some color to your skin while acting as a great moisturizer. It provides a natural tan, which should help get him on board.

The best think to do before application of a self tanner is to cleanse the face, definitely use an exfoliator to clear the area of impurities. This will help give you a clean, fresh surface to apply the product. Explain it to your man this way, "You would never wax your car without washing it first."

Problem: Your boyfriend has acne on his back and chest, and you've got a beach day coming up.

Tony's solution: Approach him like it's no big deal. "Pretty much every guy has this problem. I just thought you might want to take a look at some products that can help." The Anthony Logistics Sea Salt Body Scrub is a great product for men to exfoliate the body, and the One Step Cleansing Bar helps control oil and facial breakouts.

Definitely check out Bryce Organics. All their products are made from organic whole fruit. I swear by the meyer lemon exfoliator. Blemishes are gone! The pomegranate exfoliator is also amazing and I love the feel of the seeds on my face plus it's really helped with wrinkles. Sometime I take a taste, since it's edible.
