Designer Jack McCollough's nose was badly broken in the head-butt incident with Kiefer Sutherland early Tuesday morning, his rep has confirmed.

A spokesperson for Proenza Schouler, the label he designs with partner and former boyfriend Lazaro Hernandez, told "Mr. McCollough suffered a broken nose in three places as a result of the assault. He received medical treatment last night after consulting with physicians."

With Sutherland turning himself into the NYPD's 1st Precinct Thursday, the altercation was the talk of the young fashion crowd gathered that evening at Bergdorf Goodman's men's store for the launch of photographer Matt Albiani's book, "Lifeguard on Duty."

Standing a few feet away from "The City" crew filming Whitney Port (three cameras, and one cameraman was so short he needed to stand on a fruit box!) "casually chatting" to Samantha Swetra and hunky lifeguard Christian Nebergall was boy-about town Derek Blasberg. It was his (later deleted) tweet from SubMercer "Scandal: what young designer just got headbutted at the SubMercer by Kiefer Sutherland. Over Brooke Shields!" that first alerted the world to the fracas.

"Jack's phone hasn't stopped ringing since Kiefer attacked him," a friend of the design duo told me. "Everyone has been showing their support, but Jack has been in a lot of pain and is still really angry that it happened."

Asked whether Proenza Schouler might reference the incident in a future collection -- padded swine flu masks, maybe? -- the friend laughed: "I don't think they're there yet."
