Nearly every one of his 35-pieces was based on the notion of the shell. Some of the references were obvious such as the mother-of-pearl necklaces and a silk chiffon dress (with cutout shoulders) done in a junonia shell print.
Other tributes were more subtle and figured into the cut and drape of a skirt, such as the jade one seen right. It's meant to embody a shell's circular form and soft, rounded edges.
Beach combers be warned: The clothes don't hit stores until October.

I've had so much fun looking at all of the cruise/resort collections this year. The YSL collection has such a cool theme; I love that it is inspired by shells. It seems more unique than what some of the other lines are doing. The jade skirt in this photo is lovely. Thanks for this post!
