Women everywhere dream of their big day: the tiered cake, the floral arrangements, the first dance, and, of course, the Vera Wang dress. I know, I wore one and had a fairy-tale wedding.

Her gowns and ready-to-wear are the epitome of elegance. As well they should be (and I don't mean because of the prices): Wang cut her couture teeth under the icy glare of Anna Wintour as a Senior Fashion Editor at Vogue -- there was (size) zero room for error.

After departing the fashion bible -- rumor has it she was passed over for the editor-in-chief job in favor of Wintour -- Wang spent two years working for Ralph Lauren, then set out on her own.

She's since built an empire, becoming the It wedding dress designer. When one thinks wedding, they think Wang. And she has outfitted a bevy of A-list brides including Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner and numerous celebrities for the red carpet.

So, will her next role be as a scantily clad contestant on the ninth season of 'Dancing with the Stars' (premiering September 21)? The fashion world is abuzz, but Wang's keeping mum. For now.

The designer also used to be a competitive figure skater and almost made it to the the Olympics. Kristi Yamaguchi, Olympic gold medalist in figure skating, won season six of 'DWTS.' Is this an omen?

We give it a matter of days before an official announcement is made. And we've got our fingers crossed. She would bring a much-needed touch of class to the show.

And, let's be real, it's time for a few 'DWTS' costume, um, tweaks. With Wang's multitasking skills I'm sure she could fit in a little designing between Paso Dobles.

Stay tuned...
