After major style success with the her shoe and handbag lines, Jessica Simpson's retail brand, Jessica Simpson Collection, is getting its feet wet with swimwear!

The 28-year-old triple threat and her mom are creative directors for the brand and personally approve the designs.

Now, the mother-daughter duo has partnered with Red Carter (through its parent company Camuto Group) for their first venture into swim.

Red Carter's namesake brand is known for its South Beach-style designer swimsuits. Carter started out in L.A. working for Guess and Victoria's Secret, but relocated to Miami to pursue his own swimwear line.

From the sound of things, Simpson's multiyear deal is off to a good start. "The Red Carter team is thrilled to partner with Jessica Simpson and Camuto Group -- we admire them both immensely," says Carter.

After seeing the first pieces, we think the bikinis are appropriately JS. The electric green and brown leopard two-piece is the epitome of poolside chic, while our favorite, the red and white bikini with a sweetheart neckline (above) has obvious western influences: note the sweet eyelet trim. (Perfect for Simpson -- a country girl at heart!)

We were thrilled to learn that the collection is also moderately priced -- separates range from $35 to $60 and cover-ups will go for around $120. The line debuts this year at major department stores and retailers nationwide.

Considering how Simpson's singing career has been going, perhaps a full-time design gig is the way to go. And coming from fashion girls, that's a compliment!
