It must be tough to follow in the footsteps of designer heavyweight Oscar de la Renta, but son Moses debuted his MDLR line nicely earlier in the year, tapping the cool model looks of singer Lissy Trullie.

Since then, Moses has revamped and launched a slick website, and the new lookbook shows that the young designer has been quietly carving out his own niche in the world of downtown chic.

The junior de la Renta teams with Lissy Trullie again with a mostly black collection. It contains a bit of punk, but it also has a ladylike sensibility to it. There is a neatly cut leather motorcycle vest, simple sheaths and a wide-lapeled trench coach that would fit perfectly in a darker Bonnie & Clyde.

Set in what looks like the apartment of the coolest friend you know, the website also has a music section that features songs by artists such as Patti Smith and Gang of Four that you can change on an old record player.

The price points don't come cheap, though. Retail prices hover around the $1,000 dollar range. Considering Oscar de la Renta's luxurious offerings, it looks like a classic case of like father, like son!
