So it's fitting that The Harrods summer sale (or more accurately, Harrods' only sale of the year) was opened by the British-born/American-bred actress, who cut the red ribbon and rode around in Harrods' horse-drawn carriage to get the crowds pumped for the iconic store's hotly anticipated shopping event. (It's big: Lanvin dresses are 50 percent off.)

But perhaps more newsworthy is how Barton nailed it, style-wise. Her looks are often hit-or-miss, but right now, I give her serious props for channeling the style spirit of another British/American fashion plate, Penelope Tree.
Like Barton, in her heyday, Tree was willowy with crazy-angular cheekbones, worked long bangs, copious amounts of eye makeup and possessed a cool, boho chic style.
Let's hope Barton's style evolution continues on its upward path. Love it!
