Kiefer Sutherland is going to have a more relaxing summer. His court date has been pushed back indefinitely!

Earlier in the year, the actor allegedly head-butted Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough and broke his nose at an after-party for the Met's Costume Institute Gala. (That's the one where Madonna wore bunny ears.)

Now, the Manhattan district attorney's office says Sutherland's court appearance for the assault charges from the now infamous incident was scheduled today, but has been postponed and no new date has been set, the Associated Press reports.

As we previously covered, a few weeks after the nose-breaking incident, Sutherland and McCollough issued a joint statement that they had resolved their differences. Sutherland apologized to the designer in the statement, paving the way for the charges to be dropped.

It's not at all unusual for court dates to get postponed for logistical reasons. But we can still hope that maybe this hints at a more amicable resolution to the case.
