Please do NOT believe that breast self-exam is better than a mammogram. I am a 5-year survivor of Stage IIB breast cancer (small, but in my lymph nodes). I did self-exams and my doctor did a breast exam before referring me for my annual mammogram; he did not feel a thing at the exam. Also, be aware that cancer is more difficult to feel or to find on a mammogram if you have "dense breast tissue." If your mammogram report says "dense breast tissue," you should ask if you need an MRI. My MRI found another spot of cancer that the mammogram missed, and found the cancer in my lymph nodes. An earlier MRI might have saved my breast.

Yes, women should talk about Ovarian Cancer. The symptoms are subtle at first, when it is easier to treat. Unfortunately, most women are diagnosed when it is not.
