Some of the men dressed as women and the women, well, dressed as women, wearing everything from platform wedges and slingbacks to spiked heel Mary Janes, all for a good cause.
The wacky and wobbly race recruited hospitality industry workers to raise money for the Kids Can Telethon Big Night In. And who needs to be quicker on their feet than bartenders and servers?
Eighteen teams (made up of one to four people each) paid $250 to participate in the Heel-A-Thon with all proceeds benefiting Kids Can -- the New Zealand-based charity that provides underprivileged children with encouragement in reaching their full potential, as well as material support, such as raincoats and (practical) shoes.
