Now the company is launching a modeling contest on Aug. 14 called "9 Countries, 9 Men, 1 Winner" for the next Calvin Klein Underwear model.
The contest is set to coincide with the new additions to the underwear line's "steel" range that will include flags from the nine countries participating in the male model competition: France, England, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Russia and Spain.
Aspiring male models can apply online by submitting a photo of themselves on the competition's website in their Calvin Klein skivvies.
Even if we won't be seeing any Americans in the competition, there's plenty of fun to be had eying the nine chiseled European finalists, who will be selected by a panel of judges including current CK poster boy Jamie Dornan (above), as well as executives from Calvin Klein and Select Model Management.
Bob Mazzoli, chief creative officer of Calvin Klein Underwear, adds, "While the new Calvin Klein Underwear steel offering allows our consumers to show their patriotic side, the contest itself will enable our global customer base to connect via a fun and engaging competition."
True to democratic form, the winner will be selected by a public vote via the website in April 2010 and will win a modeling contract with Select Model Management and a trip for two to South Africa. Hey, being an underwear model judge is hard work, but somebody's gotta do it. Happy judging!
