A $24,720 Hair Cut? Only if You're the Sultan of Brunei

It's good to be one of the richest men in the universe. While everyone else in the world is gritting their teeth against the recession, you get to spend over $20,000 to fly a barber from England -- in a private cabin so he doesn't catch swine flu -- to trim your conservative world-ruler 'do.

Daily Mail reports that the barber, who normally charges about $50 for a cut, has been attending to the Sultan's hair for 16 years, so that presumably means the Sultan would just swing by England whenever he needed a trim. I guess he couldn't squeeze it into his schedule this time around!

This outrageously pricey trim is now considered to be the most expensive haircut ever. Well, we should hope so!

We remember thinking that Sally Hershberger's $600 charge back in the early Nineties was scandalous. She now charges $800, as does Orlando Pita, and a cut with Ted Gibson will run you $950.

Now those prices seem like chump change.

It's not just haircuts that are getting crazy-expensive. Check out our thoughts on the $140 shampoo here!
