Gwen Stefani Bleaches Her Son's Hair - Cool or Crazy?

We can't get enough of Gwen Stefani.

Love her, love her music, love her style, well, you get the point!

But when we saw her son Kingston with a matching platinum hairstyle, we couldn't help but wonder if there is such a thing as too young for bleach.

What do you think? Leave a comment!

By 14 most kids are dying to create their own identity and prove the are nothing like their parents, but apparently Connor Cruise has no qualms about appearing like a chip off the old block. Tom and his son matched right down to their accessories while taking in a game two of the NBA West finals.
Connor isn't the only victim of Hollywood's mini-me obsession. From Zahara and Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (that's right, Angie is a repeat offender!) to Connor's stepmom Katie and sister Suri, these famous families have us seeing double, or triple!

hair is hair so get over people. if someone doesnt like it then thats them as long as it was the childs decision to do it. if my son wanted to dye his hair i would say ok but im gonna do it myself. if i say absolutly not then i would be a hypocrite cause i myself dye my own hair but with safe all natural products. it will always grow back

did you know that using chemicals on a child's head is not good for that child? hope your child survives childhood, especially when they are allowed to make the decisions.did you know it is actually okay to tell a child no when something is bad for them?happy parenting!!

it is doubtful that he asked his mother if he could bleach his hair... i am sure she told him it will make him look cooler/different or whatever than the rest of the kids and of course any kid will listen to that, especially when his mother is gwen stefani... physically holding him down and pouring bleach over his head, maybe not, but that isn't the only way to force a kid to do something... and what i am saying is whether or not she "forced" him to do it, she, as a parent, should not allow such abrasive chemicals anywhere near her young children - and that is why it is child abuse

and so you are saying that if he was an ugly kid, only then should we care what he does to his hair? it doesn't matter what this kid looks like, the potential for harm is still the same and any responsible parent would not allow a child as young as he is to have bleach put onto his head...

It's a young child we're talking about here. If it's true that she did that to his hair then that's totally wrong. How can anyone see it as acceptable to put strong chemicals on a young child's hair. You keep saying it will grow back . That's not the issue, the chemicals can get absorbed through the skin and get into the bloodstream people, not to mention the fumes. I hope this story is false but in the event that it is true, then I hope she won't do it again cause that can be very harmful to the child period not just his hair.

You raise your kids and let her raise her own. Does it really matter what she does. It is her son. I wish some would tell me what I can and can not do with my child. If I am not hurting in anyway. Not one person has stated facts that it will hurt the child. Mind your business.....

SERIOUSLY? U 2 should get 2gether 4 a play date, take them 4 a tanning session, give them mommy & me tatatoos and nose rings cause hey! its YOUR kid and you're not actually "hurting" them...only altering their appearance, taking away their right to develop their own personality as they grow and giving them time 2 learn who they are becoming and not what MOMMY & DADDY already are!
Yes,lets NOT let them be just kids as God made them cause its all about u! Of course, its FINE to use chemicals on your kids 2 make them look fashionable and cute cause your kids BELONG 2 u and they make the BEST FASHION ACCESSORIES, right! right? IDIOTS!

First: My sister is a cosmetologist and her son asks her all the time to give him blue hair. He's 5 and has a blue mohawk. The "chemicals" are actually different pigments without any of the harsh crap in them and the dye never touches his scalp.

Second: If you look at Kingston's head, the sides are still normal color and it's only the front/top that is dyed and seems to not be fully done.

Third: If dying your hair is so unsafe for children, why are pregnant women allowed to dye their hair and be around the fumes, etc?

Fourth: Child abuse? Really? Get over yourselves. Dying your kids' hair does not constitute bad parenting. You're just jealous that your kid didn't get noticed and that Gwen is cooler than you will ever be. You people wouldn't know cool (and safe) parenting if you were naked at the North Pole.

cosmetologist is a fancy way of saying beautician - not scientist - so i don't think they can be considered an expert opinion of the affects of chemicals from hair bleach and dyes - they only sort of know what the resulting color will be when applied to an individual's hair

and pregnant women are advised not to color their hair as the real SCIENTISTS are still unable to prove whether or not there is a risk to the fetus

and do you know what color kingston's normal hair color is?

and people who try so hard to get their kids noticed (i.e. a blue mohawk) are wannabes who think that doing something so ridiculous to their child is as cool as it is if you were naked at the north pole... and it is those same people who will be suing for millions of dollars when their kid is blinded from the chemicals or develops breathing problems or when their kid is diagnosed with a behavioral disorder and of course will then blame the company who makes the hair dying product for the problems the kid now has

kids grow up fast enough as it is... why the rush to change them? children are not dolls. and what kind of message is that sending? - "you will only be cool if you have a silly haircut and a hair color that is not your own"

lol... i am soooooooooo jealous that i am not an irresponsible, but totally cool parent

Excuse me, but doctors ADVISE pregnant women NOT 2 dye or perm their hair...do most listen?yes, but I see plenty who refuse 2 not look cute just b/c they are pregnant! The exposure levels may be small but what mother wouldnt sacrifice 9 months to make sure she isnt inducing some small harmful poison to her unborn child? How vain can u be? Ppl make all kids of excuses to indulge themselves at the expense of their kids...so of course you r defending her! Its the PRINCIPLE of the idea. Is it necessary? Toddlers ask for all kinds of silly things.Everything is VISUAL to them so they want what they see: mommy nail polish, her lipstick, her hair color, her haircut, so we just give in b/c they ASK! Parenting 101: SOMEBODY has 2 be the ADULT and say NO....

Paint this kid a future metrosexual more gay that straight. Yeah, Yeah pipe down gays have more guts to experiment with anything than straight. Besides it asked for my comment not your permission.

I'm sure that bleach wasn't on there very long & was done by the utmost professional. Personally I think piercing a newborn baby girl is much worse and is done every day by millions of moms & knowone cares. She clearly loves him and would never harm mom. And FYI....it's not permanent!

Alex: I agree that it's ridiculous to use your kids as accessories, and it seems that most celebrities don't know where to draw the line. However, I don't think it's wrong to pierce a baby's ears. My son is a single father of two kids - a boy and a girl. He's had custody of them for 4 years now. He chose not to pierce my granddaughter's ears when she was a baby, even though their mother is Spanish and it's common for babies to get their ears pierced. Now she is six years old and wants to wear earrings. I have offered to take her to get her ears pierced but she is too afraid it will hurt. She always says to her father "Dad, whyyyyy didn't you pierce my ears when I was a baby? Now I'll never have my ears pierced!" On the other hand my grandson is ten years old and just got a mohawk. It was his choice and he looks really cute. Bleaching would absolutely be out of the question.
