Normally, we make it a rule to steer clear of fashion advice provided by anyone associated with "Dancing with the Stars," but darn it if we didn't learn a thing or two from former contestant Marissa Jaret Winokur's interview with our sister site Lemondrop.
For Winokur, who now hosts Oxygen's "Dance Your Ass Off," great fashion is all about the shape, not the sequins.
"You can't go by size," Winokur told Lemondrop. "You have to try everything on."
One tip that took us by surprise: Black garments are tighter.
"The scary thing in those kind of cheaper stores (which are great) is that you have to try every color [of the same item] on because the black is gonna fit tighter because it has more dye in it," Winokur explained to the site.
"But then, if you get the beige or the gray it could fit bigger. Every color cuts differently. That's why black jeans are always tighter. You always have to try jeans on."
