ABC News announced that Diane Sawyer will replace retiring anchor Charlie Gibson on ABC "World News" this January.

It's big news for Sawyer, as well as women everywhere: 2 out of 3 network evening news anchors are now female, as Diane and Katie Couric (on CBS "Evening News" since 2006) hold court with Brian Williams of NBC "Nightly News".

The stylish star has always managed to make traditional anchor fashion more mainstream than matronly, and is known for her chic outfits--like wearing fishnets and a leather skirt on an episode of "Good Morning America".

Even at 63, Sawyer is not afraid to show a little skin in a boatneck top (shown above) and has attended fashion shows of favorite designers like Ralph Lauren.
