Sex may be in the city, but Kristin Davis' fashion line will not!

Belk department stores and Davis have pulled the plug on her namesake collection of sportswear and accessories that was sold exclusively at Belk, in turn canceling the collection's runway debut at the Style360 venue during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York on Sunday, September 13. (Less than a week away.)

"This was a difficult business decision we made together as part of out normal course of brand and merchandising evaluations," Belk President of merchandise and marketing Kathryn Bufano said in a release. "We both understand that the challenges of the economic and retail environment have led to even more close evaluations and adjustments."

The Kristin Davis Collection for Belk stores has been available since fall 2008 and contains moderately priced sportswear pieces, shoes, accessories and more formal dresses, styled for a Southern woman in a "modern, feminine and style-savvy" way. The collection will be available through the holiday season.

In the release, Davis added, "I'm looking forward to taking my brand in a new direction and I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead."

We'll have to settle for glimpses of Davis herself (or more like character Charlotte), as "Sex and The City 2" started filming in New York City last week. Davis was seen joining her cast mates Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall and Cynthia Nixon today, on set in front of the Plaza Hotel.

isn't there a limitation to when you can cancel something that I'm sure has taken a long time to put together. A lot of expense has obviously been put out. Was her fashion team compensated?

I'm always glad to see someone take the extra step in pursueing their dreams, aren't you? Some have the extra money to go the extra lengths it takes to follow through. We should always give a big hand when success reaches their doorstep. Enviousness can only bring grief to the one whom is envious. God bless good talented people.

Not surprised. I think Belk overdid it. Her line was OK, nothing spectacular and it was obvious they were pushing it big time. Everywhere you looked, they were showcasing it, almost an entire section of the store.

Another half baked celebrity with no real talent looking for a means to survive since their only job was a tv show that eventually had to end. Not soon enough for me... So, when you are not truly talented, you try to sell clothes, perfume, cologne, and anything a stupid consumer will buy just to "think" they are themselves a "celebrity". But, then again, there are enough stupid people out there willing to buy their garbage and make the celebrity rich, while the consumer gets poorer and poorer. What always amazes me is.... I see people everywhere and I cannot tell if the shirt, pants, dress, purse or shoes are from a Walmart brand or something purchased at a Neiman Marcus. Most people who cannot really afford the high end merchandise, pay 40 dollars for some cheap t-shirt with a logo stamped on it. Then as they walk around, they think they are impressing others with their logoed t-shirt. A cheap t-shirt is a cheap t-shrt and a logo does not make it classy or expensive looking. All the consumer does is pay for a logo and then give free advertising to whomever... STUPID....

i take it you are one of those people who really wants the life of the rich and famous but has no talent and can't really seem to put there life together to be able to say they are on a tv that has ended. i don't think it is far to ruin someones ability to spend on thereself. if they worked hard for it, let them enjoy it. truly, if you worked a little harder, maybe you could have more. why are you so unhappy with your life. know that products are there for the people to buy. no one is stupid. everyone wants something nice. how rude of un-american of you... are you even an american?
