Saks Fifth Avenue has revamped the "Third Floor" into designer heaven!

The retailer has dedicated an entire floor to 49 collections, including 20 shop-in-shops from big fashion names such as Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani and Louis Vuitton. The floor opened to customers last week, but officially debuted with a celebratory fashion and famous friends dinner last night (Sept. 9).

For those fans of Marc Jacobs' designs for Louis Vuitton ready-to-wear, this marks the first time that Saks will be carrying the line's apparel, along with the accessories and shoes it currently offers. It will also be the only department store in the U.S. to offer the complete collection of the luxury label's haute duds.

Alongside fashion heavyweights, "Third Floor" will also feature young designers and hard-to-find collections such as Erdem, newly appointed Halston designer Mario Schwab's eponymous line, Graeme Black and interestingly, Christian Siriano. (Looks like "Project Runway" isn't only good for ratings!)

The revamped space will feature decor by famous women in the art and design world including a curvy black table by architect Zaha Hadid located in the emerging designer space and gold-leafed filigree screens by artist Michele Oka Doner.

Also look for artwork by Kathy Moss and Linda Stojak, onyx walls, as well as some sparkle with a Swarovski installation.

Serious shoppers may also qualify for the Fifth Avenue Club, which will offer new fitting rooms and a lounge for its VIP customers overlooking Rockefeller Center. Now that's some shopping inspiration!
