We reported on the frenzy over Solange Knowles and her shaved head a while back. Today, we hung out with the star at the BCBG Max Azria show:

StyleList: Your hair looks amazing. Why do you think people make such a big deal about it?
Solange: Thank you, first off. Hair is something that holds a lot of power for a lot of women. You have to be...making some kind of statement when you do that.
StyleList: And sometimes it's just a preference, or just about convenience. What was your motivation?
Solange: For me it was just about liberating and freeing up time.
StyleList: We bet it frees up a lot of time!

Aside from being jealous of Solange's hair, we had to ask the star--who has appeared in ads for L'Oreal along with sister Beyonce--if she had any drugstore makeup tips to share.

"Wet 'n Wild...the cheap 99 cent stuff. The lip gloss is amazing," she said.
