INSPIRATION: The work of 1920s photographer Jacques-Henri Lartigue, whose black-and-white photos captured French leisure chic during one of its golden periods.
WHO WAS THERE: Mischa Barton, Hayden Christiansen, Peaches Geldof
BEST LOOKS: Scandalously short shorts and skirts; double-breasted cardigans; navy linen blazers; lots of stripes. A full spectrum of blues including, effervescent turquoise, bold ocean, steel and indigo
ACCESSORIES: Turbans and scarf headbands; strappy, Greek goddess sandals, bootie sandals ("bandals?") with slight platform
WHAT WE THOUGHT: The Lacoste show always offers simple, classic pieces any woman could wear on a daily basis. This season's collection felt especially optimistic, full of bright, energetic colors and chic basics. Palazzo pants, a flowy white skirt and a white cable tennis-sweater style dress would be easy to wear, even for those without model bodies. And one great lesson from the show's finale: When in doubt, look happy. Lacoste paraded its full cast of models down the runway wearing a surprise collection of nothing but sunshine yellow. Looking on the bright side, indeed.
