HAIR: John Ruidant for Redken
NAILS: Sheril Bailey for Lancome
SNAPSHOT: '80s Sportive
THE SCOOP: Chris Benz's girls like to party all the time. "The collection is all about party clothes and having fun," Benz told us backstage before his Spring 2010 presentation. "I was inspired by Memphis design from the early 80's, and by the outfits I imagine Cheryl Tiegs would have worn to a cocktail party back then."
Since the collection was so colorful the makeup had to be choosy. The lips won out, popping in bright melon L'Absolu Rouge in Chris & Tell, created by Benz and Martin specifically for the show. Nails were color-blocked in bold pink, and hair was wound into uneven curls. "The collection is full of color and texture," said Ruidant. "So we wanted the hair to be rife with random bends and movements."
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP: All makeup by Lancome. Daniel evened skin tone with Shu Uemura Nobara Foundation topped off with Lancome Ageless Minerale Translucent powder. He applied Pop 'N Cheeks in Coral Flirt to the tops of cheekbones for a hint of flush, and defined eyes with Le Crayon Khol in Black Coffee with Flash Retouche highlighter, which is new for Spring 2010, on the lids for major shine.
Lots of Hypnose Mascara in Black followed, for thick, bold lashes. Daniel concentrated color to the lips, using L'Absolu Rouge in Chris & Tell -- a bright melon shade that Benz and Daniel created specifically for the show
GET THE LOOK - HAIR: Using a curling iron, Ruidant chose random sections of hair and wound in curls, varying the degree of coil so some were single bends, and others full on curls. To keep the texture, he rubbed his fingers with Redken Outshine, and finger-combed the curls. "No brush, just fingers," he stressed, "to keep the look uneven."
GET THE LOOK - NAILS: Varying shades of bold pink were used on the fingers and toes. Le Vernis in Bon Bon Strawberry on the former, and Mademoiselle Grape on the latter, both from La Collection Lollipop, which will be available in Spring 2010.
