DESIGNER: Jill Stuart

INSPIRATION: Stuart's signature punk princesses get pulled in opposite directions. In white! No, black! Wearing lace! But only when studded! A little bit sporty! But, also very sexy!

TOP LOOKS:
A white one-shouldered minidress with black shapes cut into it. A white bolero and electric blue micro mini topping a black bodysuit. A white studded jacket worn over a sequined, ruched white mini dress. A metallic pink asymmetrical mini dress with a giant pink bow on one shoulder.

ACCESSORIES: You don't need a lot of extras with Stuart's collection of graphic clothes. One extra-long (like, way past the shoulder long) black beaded earring will suffice.

WHO WAS THERE: Paparazzi heaven! Amanda Bynes, Shenae Grimes, Nicky Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Nigel Barker, Miss Jay Alexander, most of the "Housewives of New York City."

WHAT WE THOUGHT: We were diggin' the rock 'n' roll-meets-Harlequin clown vibe that opened the show. White, with slashes of black met really short dresses, skinny pants and suits. Then things got a bit sporty with racer-back-like bodysuits -- and pops of bright blue. Just to keep us guessing, sporty morphed to tough, with lots of silver studs adding extra sass and badness to traditionally ladylike numbers.

Shoulders seemed important -- they were either covered in notice-me fabrics (loved the Blair Waldorf-perfect poufy-shouldered white lace mini dress) or completely bare (think a strapless corseted-back number or a Grecian-style blouse).

And though black and white ruled, there were dashes of emerald green and a pink/blue printed number that will stand out in any crowd.
