WHAT WE THOUGHT: Gone were the bells and whistles of Posen's previous collections. Always one to end a high note, there was no overly dramatic closing turn in this pared down show. Instead the designer focused on making finely tailored clothes in an assortment of candy-colored hues and showed them in a more intimate setting than in years past.

The trim of fat, so to speak, seemed to work well for Posen. Pintucked pieces such as an apple and raspberry Georgette day dress and a marigold degradé cut out dress reeked of sixties sensationalism and hit in all of the right spots. Trousers sculpted at the top and then narrowed throughout the leg are sure to be the new hot shape when editors are looking for pieces for their spring shoots.
