Perfectly worn holey tees, we can live with.
But a £1,000 (roughly $1,600) designer blouse that looks like it just emerged from a food fight? Eh, we'll pass.
Of course, designer Ben de Lisi's latest creation isn't just about looking good (stick that in your "no s*%$" file). De Lisi has designed a white button-down blouse with crystal details and covered it in ketchup, red wine, pesto and makeup stains to make a statement about how people treat their clothes, The Telegraph reports.
The shirt, which will be auctioned off on eBay with a reserve price of £1,000, according to the paper, was commissioned by the Dr. Beckmann cleaning company in response to research that found that more than a third of women would toss a stained clothing garment, the paper reports. You don't say!
"Often we are encouraged to buy something new rather than look after what we have bought," de Lisi explained to the paper. "This is not the most practical solution, especially during the current economic climate, so Dr. Beckmann and myself came up with this inventive way to illustrate the problem and what can be done about it."
And while we'll be doing triple axels in hell before we cough up that kind of dough for a shirt that could have been fished out of a Dumpster, we think it's great that, according to the paper, the proceeds will benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
But if you're a high roller with a heart of gold and lax cleanliness standards, then, by all means, bid away!
