INSPIRATION: The art direction in the 1967 Rex Harrison film "Dr. Doolittle," namely the circus scenes.
TOP LOOKS: Any of the psychedelic print dresses paired with wild matching tights; a mod-looking green and blue garden print romper.
ACCESSORIES: Flats everywhere, in the form of colorful tasseled loafers and embellished butterfly gladiators; a few open-toe wedge heels; metallic leather satchels; printed bandanas decorated with fabric flowers; crazy and colorful printed tights.
WHO WAS THERE: "The Hills'" Olivia Palermo, "Real Housewife" Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Peaches Geldof, Patrick Demarchelier.
WHAT WE THOUGHT: This was really Anna Sui at her best. The show opened with circus-themed music and a model in a majorette hat and cape walking in front of a tent-like backdrop. Luckily, the circus theme was a little more subtle in the rest of the offerings, but the fun didn't cease.
Sui amped up her signature 60's-style prints by combining them all together in inventive "anything goes" mash-ups (plaid + floral + sequins + another floral, mixed liberty prints becoming one pattern) that looked whimsical and perfect for long summer days and nights.
For those not ready to attempt the mismatched look head-to-toe, there were also adorable separates, including cableknit V-necks with puffed-up 80s-style shoulders, as well as a few shift dresses and rompers restricted to just one of Sui's outstanding patterns.
