For all you idiots that voted "yes it's called dress up" My kids can do that around in my house but sending them out in to the big world looking like I'm trying to force them to grow up?? My daughter must have gotten 15 or so of these dress up kits for Christmas from family members. I never cared for them.but she loved them and i let her wear them wherever we were going as long as it wasn't a formal situation. The writer of this article has some major issues.

this is a normal little girl behavior. little girls do this . this is complety normal. she not ur kid , so y r u people making a big deal about it . shes just fooling around .

My 3 great- nieces; ages 5, 3 1/2, and 2, play dress up, wear heels, wear a little make-up, and have their hair done by my 16 yr. old niece all the time. They know the difference between wearing these things when playing as opposed to what they wear when they go to church. As for their small heeled shoes....well they're just taking after their Aunts and their mother(who grew up wearing, and walking in our Big High heels)...and there's nothing wrong with that.

I am a grandmother and I have observed Suri in hundreds of photos in different magazines and on the Internet and in only one was there a hint of a smile. I have wondered if she ever smiles. She just seems to have a blank look on her face all the time. Makes me wonder what's wrong!

She looks like a little kid who likes pretty clothes which would include anything sparkling (shoes, and purse pictured). What's the big deal? Why stifle her creativity if she is the one who possibly chose the outfit. I can recall when my daughter was 2, she wanted to wear these boots which were her favorite. What's wrong with that? Well for one thing it was mid-June. I could have pulled the parental control thing and forced her to take them off but I let her wear them. It wasn't life altering. So she had on winter boots in June. She was happy. Big whoop. Both children and parents will face enough battles over time, why make such a big deal over nothing. Choose your battles wisely. I've seen kids in public with their dress up hats and clothes and I smile at them because they usually are proud of the attention. If it gives them the confidence to wear a "ridiculous" outfit then so be it! There are enough little girls out there suffering from low self-esteem.
