In this case, the stars were international dignitaries arriving for the G20 summit's opening dinner.
Not ones to disappoint, our very own national hosts, President and Mrs. Obama, stepped out looking modern as ever.
Michelle Obama donned a taupe and pink printed dress from one of her fashion favorites, Thakoon.
The spaghetti-strapped number featured a shirred fitted bodice -- baring the First Lady's toned arms -- and a long loose skirt that fell just below the knee.
Keeping it classy, the style icon topped off her evening ensemble with a single strand of pearls and pearl stud earrings.

What's your take? Is Mrs. O's Thakoon dress refreshing or should she have gone conservative in a more "official" outfit? Leave a comment below.
Michelle Obama has been mixing it up recently, from her signature cinched cardigan-skirt combos to polished Jackie O.-style suits. See more of the First Lady's trendsetting looks in the below gallery.
