Last night, Pittsburgh was abuzz with some serious VIPs.

In this case, the stars were international dignitaries arriving for the G20 summit's opening dinner.

Not ones to disappoint, our very own national hosts, President and Mrs. Obama, stepped out looking modern as ever.

Michelle Obama donned a taupe and pink printed dress from one of her fashion favorites, Thakoon.

The spaghetti-strapped number featured a shirred fitted bodice -- baring the First Lady's toned arms -- and a long loose skirt that fell just below the knee.

Keeping it classy, the style icon topped off her evening ensemble with a single strand of pearls and pearl stud earrings.

The special night brought out the who's who of the political world including Prime Minister Hatoyama of Japan and his wife Miyuki, Russia's President Medvedev and wife Svetlana and France's stylish duo: President Sarkozy and Carla Bruni (who wore an understated black shift dress).

While many of the first ladies opted for covered-up skirt suits, which MO has been spotted in of late, we think this chic frock was a good call for the the affair.
