Hence our latest obsession, "Where the Wild Things Are," the Spike Jonze-directed film adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved 1963 children's book.
And while we'll be munching on popcorn on opening night (October 16) like everyone else, it's the film's influence on the fashion world that we're really excited about.

- Urban Outfitters' "Where the Wild Things Are" Pop-Up Shop: Space 15 Twenty has spawned a collection of big-kid character tees as well as avant-garde costumes from Christian Joy, color block skirts from indie designer Mary Meyer and graphic tees by Geoff Mcfetridge, who designed the graphics for the movie.
- Opening Ceremony: The purveyor of all things hip didn't pull any punches for its Spike Jonze collaboration, recreating Max's furry one-piece wolf suit (complete with tail) for adults, plus beastly faux fur jackets and claw-and-crown jewelry from NYC jewelry designer Pamela Love.
