Looks like Ellen Tracy will be joining the table at Macy's.

The women's wear brand, which is not named after a real person, is about to be announced as the next exclusive label for Macy's, as first reported by WWD.

A source close to the deal told StyleList an official announcement is expected from Macy's next week and that the collection will be housed "in the better sportswear section."

The source added: "The agreement is excellent for the brand and a positive for Ellen Tracy in what has been a tumultuous year. Macy's has had a good deal of success with their similar partnerships with Rachel Roy and Tommy Hilfiger." In Ellen Tracy, Macy's gets "a global brand as an exclusive label."

Representatives from Macy's did not return calls for comment. Ellen Tracy execs declined to comment.

I was lucky enough to never have been overweight in my life. That all ended after the birth of my second child. I got down to 20 pounds over my normal weight but no matter what I did I couldn't lose the rest. I didn't know if was age catching up with me or if somehow my metabolism changed. Whatever the reason, nothing was working. I tried all the bogus "diet" pills that we see all over the internet, but are just scams. All I ever lost with that stuff was money. One of my friends, knowing what I was going through, told me that she had been losing weight using a special plan http://bit.ly/FatLoss4You It laid out the facts in a way I never saw before and had easy to follow meal plans and diets. Not only have I lost the weight and kept it off but I'm leading a healthier lifestyle, mostly from the knowledge I gained from this amazing program.

I have always been very afraid of aging, you know, becoming old and useless and unattractive. When I turned 50, I decided to do something about it. I've spent fortunes on face creams and anti-aging serums… but using GenFX is the first time I've tried turning back the clock from the inside out. It's also the last time I'll spend a fortune on face creams! Now everyone says I look 35!

And so the unpaid-for ads begin. These ads are obviously for loser products and/or scams if the site owners can't even afford to pay for advertising. Sure makes me want to try the products - NOT!!

For the money Macy's wants for their products is robbery. There is no quality,Sears or JC Penny's is better, hell even Walmart has better quality. I may as well throw my money to the wind shopping at Macys. Macys is not the Macys Bob Hope and all the old stars talk about in the commercial ads, that kind of quality no longer exists at Macys. Their banking on their name to take our money. Sorry Macys I learned a hard lesson shopping in your store. You get what you pay for, which is nothing.

You have to be kidding... Macys has no quality and walmart is better????? Walmart is the most disgusting, nastiest hellhole of a store ever to be put on earth.
I walk into macys and feel like the world is civilized again. Its so beautiful in there and where people use to care about quality and workmanship.
And they have loads of sales, almost every rack had discount markdowns on them when I was in there last week.
And they had gorgeous high quality shirts for women with everyday low prices. Walmart clothes are crap compared to macys. I know because I sell clothing.
Sears clothes are junk. I couldnt believe how cheap the stuff was when I was in there a few weeks ago. I havent shopped there in years. It was so cheesey and flimsy junk.
If that gross Hellmart ever causes macys to go under I will have NO hope for this world. You obviously have no taste or sense of quality.
Any store has better stuff than crapmart.
I got 300 pieces of liquidation from macys last year and every single thing I pulled out of the box, I couldnt believe how excellent the quality.
If there is any slight difference in macys merchandise compared to decades ago, you can blame sh*tMart for that.
They have forced virtually all stores to join the cheap products from china bandwagon because they have chosen to destroy as many other businesses as possible and monopolize the market. They have cheapened our society and the world. No one even cares about quality anymore, just about going to junk discount stores and getting everything as cheap as possible. The jobs walmart provides are the worse for the economy.
Keeping shopping at walmart and you are contributing to the downfall of society and our economy, while you stupidly think youre getting the best bargains. Crapmart does not always have the best bargains and if you look at quality, there are many, many stores who have much better quality and can beat their prices!
TJMaxx has much better quality clothing and home decor and their prices are as cheap.
Try shopping other places instead of supporting a tyranical company that is destroying and cheapening our world.

Marla.....you sooooo nailed it. I absolutely agree. We don't have a Macy's in my town....I have to drive an hour to get to it. Well worth the drive. Thier sales are amazing! If you can't find a good deal there....then you just aren't opening your eyes...they are everywhere! Walmart sucks so bad! If you are all for the economy to keep spiraling....keep shopping there!

What this article fails to mention is the price points that were announced:

Jackets: $99 to $149 - Pants: $50 to $99

That's considered "Better Sportswear" ? That's inline with Macy's in house brands like INC and Alfani

I'm afraid I don't expect to much and it's really a shame, Ellen Tracy was the gold standard in bridgewear :(

Also, no mention if there will be plus sizes :(

It was the gold standard, we are now looking to Elie Tahari, and some pieces of other brands, such as Lafayette, but the quality has to be there - I am in and out of buildings that are anywhere from 60 to 80 degrees, winter or summer, I have to have real fabrics, sorry, polyester doesn't do it. And the absolutely awful thing was that when I went into Macys to get a really cute ET shirt, the salesperson did not know how to ring it up. Sorry - ET now means Elie Tahari.
