Plus-sized beauties go au naturel for Glamour's November issue. Photo: Matthias Vriens-McGrath for Glamour

A month ago, we reported on Glamour's efforts to push the boundaries of accepted beauty norms with a photo shoot for its November issue featuring all plus-sized models -- in the buff.

And now, the picture we've all been waiting for: seven plus-size knockouts -- Crystal Renn, Lizzie Miller, Amy Lemons, Ashley Graham, Kate Dillon, Anansa Sims and Jennie Runk -- all showing off what their mamas gave them.

In the article accompanying the photograph (and yes, all the models actually ate the catered food at the shoot!), Glamour writer Genevieve Field discusses the fashion industry's obsession with weight, explaining that any model over a size 6 is often considered plus-size because she's too big for the designer samples that typically run from a size 0-4.

Field also talks about the stigma associated with high-end designers producing garments over size 12, giving kudos to Michael by Michael Kors, Baby Phat and Isaac Mizrahi for Liz Clairborne -- all brands that embrace size 14 and above.

We heart Scarlett Johansson, Glamour's November cover girl. Photo courtesy of Glamour.

As Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive writes on her blog, the staff is completely behind the push for a "body image revolution," which will include a commitment "to featuring a greater range of body types in our pages," she writes, "including in fashion and beauty stories (traditionally the toughest areas for even the top 'plus-size' models to crack)."

It seems even the stunning Scarlett Johansson, who appears on Glamour's November cover, has been slightly upstaged by the bevy of beauties wearing even less than the sans pants actress/singer. And that takes a lot! Pick up the November issue to get your Johansson fix.

Glamour's readers were torn between this new agenda to see more women like themselves in magazines versus the more idealized skinny versions. Where do you stand?

Weigh in, no pun intended, with a comment below.

Plus, read about Glamour model Crystal Renn's struggle with an eating disorder before becoming a plus-size model in our StyleList exclusive.

I agree. Calling these women "plus sized" perpetuates the notion that the skinny ones or normal sized. They are not. Those of us larger than the women deicted here are the truly "plus sized" women. And WE should be depicted as beautiful also. Because we are.

My daughter modeled from the time whe was 14 yrs old. She did some of the big shows, traveled the world and made a nice paycheck for her efforts. Although in some of the markets she was too "big" at a size 1 because she was curvy (busty). As she got older she also got heavier (as we all do) and was told she couldn't book jobs because she was "too big" (at a size 8) she was also too small to book as a PLUS... she was devistated when her agent suggested that she padd herself to fit the plus clothing and do the audition... In her mind she was not "fat" nor a "PLUS" once she got past the idea of being considered a "plus" model (size 14/16) she went on to a nice career of plus modeing and was the spokes model for the plus size clothing line 'Size Appeal'. She did a national ad for them a few years ago that was semi nude, the catch line was "beauty dosen't have to be a size 4". It was very well recieved and got a lot of press... However, now at the age of 30 she is considered too "old"... go figgure! Now she is living a quiet life as a healthy, curvy, size 14 wife, no longer working in the industry but able to tell her future children that they can follow their dreams and be what ever they aspire to be! I applaud Glamor for this shoot and say it's about time!!!

I totally agree... I'm only sixteen, but I take a size thirteen in jeans, a large in shirts, and I'm almost a D cup. I get made fun of constantly because when i sit down, my stomach rolls. Funnily enough, these women have that going on too, and they're considered plus sized. I've always thought that I was just a normal girl, and I've never wanted to look like those size two girls in my school.. This is just an insult to me, and all women and girls my size. We're not plus sized at all. We're normal looking girls. If Glamour really wants some attention, feature a women that's a size 18, 20, 22... That is a plus sized model. Not these women.

Plus size? Yikes....I'd give my right arm to be "plus size" like that. First of all, what's that telling the young girls out there, that if they were anything but a 2 they are plus size? Just because a person is skinny, doesn't mean they're healthy. I know lots of "fat" people that are healthier than they size 2 sisters or brothers for that matter.

As long as plus size doesn't exceed those shown - it is fine, anything "plusser" or extra plus sized is just gross. If you must be in public, lose a couple plusses!!! That's all we ask.

Kudos to Diane for stating that these women are NOT plus sized. Having a metabolic disorder my whole life, I KNOW what a plus sized woman looks like. Let's get some real Plus Beauties out there in the media.

"Plus Size" is just a nice way to say FAT and our society is trying to make it ok to be FAT there is nothing healthy or attractive about it, eat right and exercise, if you are over your recomended height/weight/bodyfat ratio, than you are overweight and unhealthy, and there is nothing sexy about that. There is an easy solution to this debate get off your ass and excercise, and have a little dicipline when it comes to eating habbits.

I think these woman are perfect, possibly a little bigger. I really do think it is about time they start being more realistic about what woman should and do look like.

I do not think it is a good idea to model obiest woman. The reason I say this is because being obesit is very unhealthy. It is associated with tons of health issues espeically heart issues. I know it is easier said then done in losing wait when it gets to this point and I know it comes to a point where some people will have to get surgery to get their wieght down. Although If society was to change their way of thinking to being obiest is okay then more and more people would adopt this idea including our childern. We would be saying its okay to be unhealthy and it's not. We need to take care of our body's. I am not trying to offend anyone that may be obiest. Most of my family is obiest and I love them with all my heart. I still struggle everyday with trying to eat healthier it's not easy since I wasn't grown up eating healthy but it is cruicial to being healthy. We need to be pro health. Not pro obiest. Although more understanding and knowledgable of obiesity since it isn't always about eating better or less.

okay first of all .... people that even attempt to think that diets work well....THEY DON'T...the only way you can truly loose weight is to eat protein..which is meat, nuts, eggs etc. fibers, fruits and allot of colored vegetables with out all the unhealthy starches. but only to eat starch in a controlable way. eat samller meals more often than bigger meals all at once. THis is how fat gets stored into your stomach. The smaller and healthier meals through the day make your stomach work and break down whatever your eating which keeps it working so that it breaks everything down and now to store the fat away. The second point is to WORK OUT AS IN LIFTING WEIGHTS...or running, or walking and LIFTING WEIGHTS....if you don't start now well...thats too bad because its your choice...hundreds of people DON'T GET IT...well its pretty simple...eat healthy and work your azz out...my father taught me well... so ill apply it to everyone who actually needs help... :) thanks you AND JUST SO YOU KNOW IM 15 YEARS OLD AND I KNOW MORE ABOUT HEALTH THAN MOST PEOPLE. :D NO OFFENSE

If these models are considered "plus size" then about 90% of the females on earth would be considered plus size. These women are what I would considered normal sized. Most women that you see have about this size body. Just becuase we all aren't as big as a toothpick and look like a barbie doll, doesn't mean that we should be considered overweight. Also, these women are so much prettier than most of the "normal models" that we see all the time.
