College Profs Will Be Punished for Not Wearing Coordinated Colors

You'd think that a college -- particularly one with a prominent fashion program -- would have a liberal interpretation of what constitutes personal style.

After all, "hot mess" is in the eye of the beholder.

While profs are having to rethink mixing florals with plaids, students at the college are free to roll up to class in any old rag, the paper reports.

"It is important our staff present a positive image," a college spokesman told the Metro.

Positively PO'ed is more like it. Not surprisingly, the teachers are none too happy about being branded fashion victims.

"It seems remarkable to me that management would want to introduce a policy that harks back to Victorian times," said Nick Varney, representative for the University and College Union, as reported by the paper.

Though having to shove your tie-dyed tees back in the closet hardly smacks of Victorian mores in our book, we might be a tad more sympathetic if we hadn't spent half of our high school careers in detention thanks to our teachers busting us on a trumped-up dress code violation.

Karma, thou art a bitch.
