Being discrete is sooooo 2008, dahlings.

Just ask Lily Allen, Katy Perry, and Taylor Momsen, who are putting the "Hollywood" in Frederick's of Hollywood by stepping out in racy garter tights.

Allen hit London's Groucho Club with garter-effect tights that left little to the imagination (along with a plunging, nip slip-ready top that left even littler to the imagination), while Perry wore traditional white garter stockings with a blue frock for a Fendi party in France.

"Gossip Girl" star Momsen (emphasis on "girl" -- she's 16), meanwhile, rocked her garters while performing for Teen Vogue's Fashion's Night Out Fashion Show back on September 10.

And let's not forget Rihanna, who wore garters to hold up her thigh-high Hussein Chalayan boots during Paris Fashion Week.

So what does this all mean? Should we all start dressing like we just stumbled out of a Victoria's Secret changing room?

Does the exposed lingerie amnesty extend to runaway bra straps and peekaboo thongs as well?

And what do we tell the cops when we get picked up for solicitation?

Garter fever must be contagious: Organic by John Patrick's Spring 2010 collection also paid homage to the boudoir-worthy accessory.
