Meghan McCain admits this breast-revealing TwitPic wasn't the smartest thing she's ever done. Photo: Twitter

Meghan McCain has something to get off her chest. This time, without exposing half of it.

She is promising to be more "judicious" in how much of herself she shares with her virtual friends, after she let it all hang out in a revealing scoop neck tank on Twitter.

The Twitpic had fashion conservatives calling her a slut. McCain -- who described herself as deeply hurt by the backlash from her some 60,000 Twitter followers -- threatening to quit the social networking site.

After a little time to reflect on fan polls and check in with her base, the daughter of Republican Sen. John McCain has decided to stick with Twitter for now.

Meghan McCain wrote about the breast controversy for her blog on The Daily Beast. In the post, titled "Don't Call Me A Slut," she said the following:

"I don't usually show of my cleavage -- as I did in the photos I posted -- which I will admit is not the smartest thing I've ever done. But it's just not worth the drama it caused."

McCain speculated that some of the reaction was based on her, ahem, ample assets.

"To be honest I don't feel I have anything to be ashamed of. I've always embraced my curves and will continue to do so. I'd rather be the size I am than a skinny model fired for being too fat.....It's the media that have a problem with my body."

But more than the media, it was McCain's Twitter followers who seemed to have the biggest issue with her over exposure.

Now that she's vowed to post more discreetly, McCain continues to get our vote for her defense of other women subjected to real harassment for their less than emaciated bodies.

Her Twitter controversy erupted shortly after she had posted a passionate defense of singer/actress Jessica Simpson for a cruel parody of her weight on Fox NFL Sunday.
