Wednesday night the Council of Fashion Designers of America inducted 31 new members into its coveted warm embrace with a glam cocktail party at the Four Seasons Restaurant.

"This is so chic," commented Chris Benz, a first time applicant and one of the evening's honorees about the legendary space. "It feels like old New York."

Swanning about the Phillip Johson and Mies van der Rohe-designed bar area were Benz's fellow freshmen, including Alexander Wang, The Row's Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, J.Crew's Jenna Lyons, Organic's John Patrick, and jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. All of whom were recognizable based on the the green leafy boutonniere made of miniature succulent plants accented with a passion flower vine.

"I thought I was supposed to eat it," joked CK Creative Director Kevin Carrigan in between posing with the likes of CFDA President Diane von Furstenberg and Executive Director Steven Kolb.

After the real hors doeuvres were passed, Benz reflected on the significance of the evening. "The takeaway is that were are all using the same contractors, fabric companies, etc. It's nice to be part of a family where we're all sharing and supporting each other."
