Supermodels Strip to Fight Global Warming

PETA may have started the models getting-naked-for-a-cause trend, but now a new movement has got the genetically blessed stripping off their clothes.

The issue of climate change has inspired a video that shows models, including Crystal Renn (of Glamour nude photo shoot fame), Rianne Ten Haken and Nicole Trunfio stripping off their Phi, Erin Fetherston and Anna Sui duds (ostensibly because the earth is overheating) set to a rockin' tune by The Teenage Prayers.

Supermodels Strip to Fight Global Warming - Watch more Funny Videos

The video was conceived by model Cameron Russell for 350.org, an international campaign dedicated to solving the climate crises.

350 is the number of parts per million that scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the environment. And in case you were wondering, we're already at 390 and counting.

Aside from being a sexy, fun-to-watch music video, the message is loud and clear -- we need to get the carbon level back down to 350 and the best way to do that is to talk to your local politicians (with your clothes on!).

And here's some other scantily clad eco-friendly fashion news.

More hype by unimportant 'sheeple' about junk science. Wonder how much Gore is paying them.

Righto, Lotte. Man-made global warming is a myth. Not surprising that supermodels would believe in it.

After seeing this video clip I'm thinking ....hmmmm...What's so wrong with Global Warming? I think we haven't thought this through....Okay...enough funny...but really...World Climate Change Cycles are historically there since the beginning of time...increasing hydrocarbon emmissions are automatically handled by increasing plant growth which absorb and assimilate this mostly as food...and produce more oxygen to boot...Ozone layers have always come and gone...and we're seeing that since we've only been actually watching this for a few years...Gore is insane...Yes think green as far as recycling and do what you can...keep the car tuned...but really. Between Cows farts (this is for real folks not a joke) and forest fires and volcanoes...we would not have an effect on so called "global warming" if we stopped human contributions "Cold Turkey"...get your facts and I don't mean from some beaurocrat payroll yes man fake scientist

"Its cold lots of places so I think your making a big deal over nothing. Sorry! Global Warming is a Hoax."

Oh my goodness. Glacial decline (those big ice rocks in the north and south are melting) means it is getting warmer in those "lots of cold places." Thats the problem.

What you said is the worst anti-global warming argument ive ever read.

In the run up to the Copenhagen climate change conference, it is vital the following information be disseminated to the public as well as to our political leaders.

A widely cited 2006 report by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, Livestock's Long Shadow, estimates that 18 percent of annual worldwide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are attributable to livestock….however recent analysis by Goodland and Anhang co-authors of "Livestock and Climate Change" in the latest issue of World Watch magazine found that livestock and their byproducts actually account for at least 32.6 billion tons of carbon dioxide per year, or 51 percent of annual worldwide GHG emissions!

The main sources of GHGs from animal agriculture are: (1) Deforestation of the rainforests to grow feed for livestock. (2) Methane from manure waste. – Methane is 72 times more potent as a global warming gas than CO2 (3) Refrigeration and transport of meat around the world. (4) Raising, processing and slaughtering of the animal.

Meat production also uses a massive amount of water and other resources which would be better used to feed the world’s hungry and provide water to those in need.

Based on their research, Goodland and Anhang conclude that replacing livestock products with soy-based and other alternatives would be the best strategy for reversing climate change. They say "This approach would have far more rapid effects on GHG emissions and their atmospheric concentrations-and thus on the rate the climate is warming-than actions to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy."

I think one difference between liberals and conservatives is that if scientists change their minds about manmade global warming, Al Gore and liberals will, too. That's because they put their trust in the scientific community for scientific information. But Conservatives may or may not alter their views, depending on what Fox and their radio talk show hosts say. That's where they find their scientific expertise.

Maybe it's unfortunate we didn't have conservatives in control during W.W.II. Can you imagine how conservative talk shows (if they'd existed, then) would have scoffed at the notion of spending vast amounts of money for research into splitting something that was invisible to make a big explosion in the macroscopic world?

Of course, the right would have been wrong, then, too. But that was one accurate outcome, maybe, liberals would have been better off not achieving. Well, it depends on what we do with it, I suppose. If we don't blow ourselves up and eventually develop fusion technology that will allow for nuclear energy without nuclear wastes, we'll be able to thank liberals for being more trusting of scientists, and grateful that conservative mockery of their work didn't prevail. I know when I enjoy this computer, the Internet, my car, refrigerator, radio, and so much else, I thank God every day that Conservative derision of science didn't negate their ultimate successes.

But I do think this is the central issue separating our two parties in this land. Liberals side with science because it represents what is real. And conservatives side with fantasy because that's the best way of going after Obama and continuing the flow of money upward, which talk show hosts are hired to accomplish. By the way, when money flows up, as statistics show it does under conservative control, that's called capitalism. When it flows down into your hands, it's called wealth redistribution and socialism. If you hold a dollar in your hand when conservatives are in control, it screams out to you, "I'm melting." Hence this economy liberals inherited when Obama took office.
