The 2009 CMA Awards brought bright young stars (like LeeAnn Rimes) and iconic country talents (like Reba McEntire) together on one stage.

We were hoping Shania Twain would show up in a leopard print bodysuit and reprise some of her '90s hits, but we were entertained instead by a surprisingly modern array of stars: Taylor Swift (who gave two performances), Kid Rock, Dave Matthews, and Darius Rucker. Oh yeah, and the dresses!

We loved Carrie Underwood's record number of outfit changes, from the kelly green ruffled Ina Soltani (right) to the flashy silver shimmeryTHEIA gown she kicked off the night in.

Our favorites? Nicole Kidman's hot red L'Wren Scott beaded dress, and Taylor Swift's strapless gold sequin Reem Acra gown. The sweetheart dress had a glittery gold corset-like top and a princess-like tulle skirt. We're pretty sure it's every girl's ideal prom night getup.
