Just in time for the holidays, Lucky Magazine has launched a fashion and beauty e-commerce section, shopping.luckymag.com.
Instead of aiming to be a comprehensive shopping destination, the site -- like the magazine itself -- is built around its editors' constantly updated choices of what's best when it comes to all things fashionable and fabulous.
"We really wanted to do this e-commerce site to bring readers our edit of what was out there in online shopping," Kim France, Lucky's editor in chief,
The site includes more than 40 retailers and over 450 labels, which amounts to a well-curated selection of over 86,000 items from the realms of clothing, accessories, and beauty. When you type in a search, the results will begin with Lucky's editors' top picks in that category. In addition, hot deals and new arrivals are spotlighted daily.
"You can not only buy things but really hear the editors' voices and see what our favorite picks are," says Mary Gail Pezzimenti, Luckymag.com's online director. "We really do all the hard work of finding the best sales, deals, and picks."
Although the initial list of retailers and brands (which includes the likes of Marc Jacobs, Phillip Lim, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and many more) is vast, more names will gradually be added to the site's selection. Plans are also in the works to integrate shopping.luckymag.com into Lucky's (admittedly addictive) i-phone application.
"I feel confident that if you're a Lucky fan, you'll be a fan of this," France says.
