In this latest case of high fashion meets high-tech, the luxury department store and Microsoft Windows 7 have created Saks' famed annual window displays, which are being unveiled tonight at the NYC flagship store.
Along with the usual array of glistening snowflakes -- featuring 7,200 energy efficient lights, of course -- the retailer is using the new computer software to power 3-D animated holiday displays based on the children's storybook "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Flake."
Saks shoppers will also get to check out Windows 7-based computers first-hand by heading to floors eight and nine.

Tweets with the hashtag #holidaywindows will appear on the Saks window facing 50th Street -- that should work a bit better than leaving pages ripped from magazines around the house.
And if technology isn't your thing, maybe Kristen Chenoweth is -- the actress will be hosting the event.
Saks isn't the only retailer gearing up for the holiday season. One department store is offering a chance to win a pampered shopping spree on Black Friday via its Facebook page.
