I was excited to work on the final challenge of the Bluefly / StyleList America's Most Stylish Blogger contest because it was indeed a challenge. The leggings we received aren't exactly my usual style, but I was very intrigued by them. The black, white and gray tie-dye looks almost like marble and creates an interesting textural effect.

While the pattern was something new and different for me, leggings are a staple of the season, so I treated them like any other pair. The next natural step for me is a tunic and boots. With these leggings, I wanted to create something simple, casual and cool, so I went for a soft, sheer, roomy white tee. A sharp blazer adds a little polish to the look. The structured yet organic feel of the statement necklace -- a collection of polished silvertone leaves -- provides a nice compliment to the look of the leggings. A pair of moss green ankle boots and a menswear-inspired fedora complete the look. I felt ready for a weekend in the city -- laidback and casual yet edgy and urban.

It was refreshing to work with something I probably would not have picked out myself, and I look forward to seeing how these cool patterned leggings work their way into my daily ensembles.
