Tory Burch appeared on CNBC's "Power Lunch" today, a show usually focused on hard-core business stories, not style and fashion.

But one reason we love Tory Burch is that she isn't just a great designer but also a really smart entrepreneur, who has built a business that CNBC estimates is worth $200 million in annual sales. It's hard to walk down any city street without seeing someone wearing her Reva flats -- they have the big gold medallion with her double "T" logo -- which have reached near modern icon status.

To help other women, the designer recently launched the Tory Burch Foundation, which is focused on providing loans and offering financial services to small female-owned businesses in the United States. Burch says she chose to focus on American companies because micro-loans are actually harder to come by here than in developing nations.

On CNBC, she showed off the Tory Burch charm bracelet, a gorgeous gold jangler with charms such as a tiny Tory handbag, a peace sign and a ballet flat. Proceeds from profits of the $295 bracelet support the foundation.

We think it's a great holiday gift for your mom or best friend. And it will be a great gift to the women who benefit from the foundation too.
